Recycling
Why recycle?
Unwanted electrical equipment is the Ireland's fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.
To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with a crossed‐out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.
What is WEEE?
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items.

Battery disposal/removal
Your product may contain batteries which cannot be disposed with normal household waste. Although most batteries are harmless to use as they are intended, the chemicals they carry can pose a threat to your health and safety if used or disposed of in an improper fashion.
Recycling is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce contamination and landfill. Nearly all types of common batteries can be recycled; it is just a matter of knowing which type you have and where to take it.
If your product has a built-in rechargeable battery and develops a fault and your battery needs replacing, or for further advice and information on how to safely remove your battery, please contact our customer services department.
Packaging
Dispose of packaging materials free of charge at local packaging collection points or in dedicated disposal bins available in some local authorities.
